Raman Young Scientist Award (RYSI)

The RYSI Award has been instituted to create interest in Science at a young age, leading to more children taking up STEM as a career. The award aims to establish Science as a Fun and interesting activity that can be explored anywhere with simple materials.

The award, commemorating the discovery of the Raman Effect on 28th February 1928 is open to all children studying in standards III to X.


 
REST Awards

Raman Experiential Science Teacher (REST) Award. This contest will be open to any science teacher in the country, and much along the lines of the RYSI Award, will seek innovative entries for hands-on science activities.

Participants are expected to create hands-on science activities that demonstrate a principle in the selected topic. Working models, toys or experiments that help demonstrate the scientific principle selected may be submitted. The entries will be judged based on:

  1. Originality of the idea
  2. Effectiveness with which it conveys the chosen topic
  3. Ease of access to materials required
  4. Engagement and Exploration possibility – what’s the scope of the activity?
