जयराम रमेश, हमारे वक्त का एक परिचित नाम है. कांग्रेस पार्टी के एक जाने माने राजनेता के रूप में, एक अर्थशास्त्री और एक ख्यातिप्राप्त लेखक के रूप में भी. वे कांग्रेस के कार्यकाल में कई प्रमुख मंत्रालयों के केन्द्रीय मंत्री भी रह चुके हैं. यहाँ तक पहुचने से पहले वर्ल्ड बैंक, प्लानिंग कमीशन, गवर्नमेंट के स्टेट प्लानिंग बोर्ड के अलावा उन्होंने कई सीढ़ीयाँ चढ़ी हैं जिसके जिक्र की शायद यहाँ जरूरत नहीं ।
