● Learning objectives: helps to provide the aims/goals of the lesson in brief ● Learning outcomes: enlists the skills that the lesson aims to develop and the various learning outcomes accomplished through discovery learning, project-based learning, activity-based learning and experiential learning ● Learning plan: period-wise lesson plans are suggested to help in planning and managing learning to be imparted. Objective-based approach and mutual awareness will allow teachers/parents and students to have a clear picture of the learning outcome. It would also help teachers in adjusting teaching methods to facilitate achievements of their goals. ● Motivational activity: exercises that act as an introduction to the chapter through varied forms such as activities and riddles ● Simple, structured contents: graded and level-specific content which meets the curricular expectations at the primary level ● Glossary/New words: provides a ready reference for some difficult terms ● In-text questions: checks the understanding of the concepts learnt Each lesson will have 1–3 in-text questions which will be thoughtfully placed in areas where the teacher can pause and assess the understanding of the students as they read. The range of questions varies from factual to inferential questions given as MCQs, wherever possible. ● Fascinating facts: provides interesting topic-related facts to enhance learners’ understanding and acts as windows to the world ● Exercises: a range of factual and inferential questions to reinforce learning ● Recall: end of chapter recap captured in a flowchart format for easier understanding of the concepts learnt in EVS/Science, Mathematics, and Social Studies ● Hands-on activity: interesting, fun, and easy-to-do activities to apply the concepts learnt that enable conceptual understanding of the content and also help students apply the concepts learnt in EVS/Science and Social Studies to solve problems, evaluate various situations to create new designs from their new learning ● Math Lab activity: simple activities to visualize the mathematical concepts learnt ● Worksheets: exercises that aid in revision and assess learning and develop essential skills such as thinking, problem-solving and decision-making ● Integrated GK/Creative/Life skills: activities with an integrated approach that go beyond the textbook and aim to bring together diverse disciplines in a comprehensive manner ● Experiential learning: concept and application based exercises to assess the students’ ability to analyse real-life situations
